For years I lived with the idea that it was up to me to fix my circumstances and change the trajectory of my life. I lived with distorted beliefs that shrouded every fiber of my being compelling me to constantly 'do' or find ways to perform in an effort to bring peace and victory to my life. None of my 'do'ing was successful until I encountered the Lord and His grace which opened my eyes to reveal that problems and value are not found in anything you do but in knowing who you are and whose you are. I had to let go of what I felt, thought, and believed about myself and embrace the knowledge of who God says I am.

Belinda grew up in Chicago, Illinois with four brothers. She enjoyed reading, writing, playing games, and cooking with her mom. Belinda and her husband Charles raised four daughters; three of which were born within thirty-nine months! Belinda enjoyed writing growing up but the desire to write grew as she began raising her own children. Her first writings were to encourage her daughters to read and during this time she wrote this short story. Belinda wrote this book out of a desire to express the love she had for her own children and the love her friends and families articulated; as well.
